BACK IN STOCK! Be it with Peter Kruder as Kruder & Dorfmeister or Rupert Huber as Tosca, if Richard Dorfmeister has his fingers in the pie or on the controls, you can expect relaxed, fluffy sounds between trip-hop, dub and downtempo. Tosca was founded in 1994, surprisingly not long after K&D started. Tosca made their debut in 1997 with “Opera”. Its successor “Suzuki” hit the stores in 2000. Both albums were released by !K7 and G-Stone, the label of Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister. “Suzuki” has nothing to do with small Japanese cars or monster bikes, rather the publication sees itself as a homage to the Zen master Shunryu Suzuki. The album contains twelve instrumental tracks on the CD version and nine on the vinyl edition, into which vocal samples have been interwoven in an instrument-like manner. Many fans of the Austrian duo consider “Suzuki” with its “hypnotic, deeply chilled-out epics” (Allmusic) to be their best recording. The new edition of “Suzuki” is the first since 2000. It appears on the Berlin label !K7.
